All About Money Magic
I’ve been thinking of writing this post for a while now. Things might be getting worse financially, so for those of us that might be struggling to get by, and with Christmas rapidly approaching, I wanted to share some money magic tips that I swear by.
Not only do I add the intention with my money magic that more money comes in, I also make an intention that less money goes out. I can see this in real time happening with my grocery bill, which I have noticed has gone down by about $50 a trip, that’s $100 a month that I can spend on something else (or save!) Another bill that is lower when everyone else in my town has been complaining about how high it’s gotten is my electricity bill. Not only did I not have to pay for most of this year because of a billing error, now that I’m getting my monthly bill (after about 9 months of not having to pay it) but it’s now half the size that it used to be. In a financial era of money not stretching as long as it used to, this intention is more important now than ever to add to your money magic rituals.
I am constantly doing money magic. I tie it back to ancestral work and I burn some ancestor money on the altar for both my side of the lineage and my husband’s side. As it burns, I pray that it helps our lineages with spiritual development, break any cycles of money trauma, and pay any spiritual debts.
I play my money magic playlist when I’m budgeting or paying bills. You can add mine here or make your own.
I treat my purse like a money altar, and I make sure it’s clean every Thursday, when I do my money magic rituals. Old receipts, wrappers, etc should not be in your purse. I know as moms we can have toys wipes etc in there which is fine but make sure any crumbs are cleaned out.
I also add money oils to my purses and wallets periodically, and when I switch my purse or buy a new one.
I use incense like “Call Money” “Attract Money” or Cinnamon on Thursdays as part of my rituals and I make sure my front door area is nice and clear. The kids like to drop things (bookbags, shoes, etc) by my front door even though we don’t use it to get in and out of the house. I make sure that they come and get their stuff and even have them saying things to each other like “you’re blocking our blessings” and “I’m blessed and highly favored.” It’s the little things, it’s proof they are actually listening to me!!
Every other month I burn a glass candle for money or sweetening. In between those 7 day candles, I’m burning little spell candles for money or sweetening as well. You can find green candles at the dollar store that you can use for money. I also like to use pink or yellow candles for sweetening. You can also find money herbs like cinnamon at the dollar store and sweetening ingredients as well that you can use like honey, sugar or brown sugar could be found there as well.
Keeping your home clean and clutter free is also a great (and free!!) way to keep abundance flowing in your home. Everytime I deep clean an area of my home, I always feel not just accomplished but in peace, like I just took a spiritual bath.
Speaking of spiritual baths, those are great to keep money flowing. Just like having a clean home, having a clear aura is so helpful in attracting great things. I always go back to Erykah Badu’s song Bag Lady. Where she sings “you’re going to miss your bus, carrying all them bags like that.” for me, the lyrics mean your blessings as the bus you’re going to miss, and your bags as the extra baggage that we may carry that don’t allow us to get on to that bus easily and freely. Preparing spiritual baths regularly for you and your family keeps you all free of that bag. And those bags can very well be full of trash!
A couple of times a year I declutter some old clothing, making sure that I remove any clothes that are dingy or old, even if they’ve been house clothes the entire time. Just because they are clothes you wear around the house, doesn’t mean that they should be full of holes or pit marks! Socks are another thing I’m good about letting go when they get holes, because why are we keeping things that no longer do what they are supposed to do?!
I grew up in a house where my mom saved everything for a special occasion and she accumulated so many things in our basement that never made it to Dominican Republic, that when they moved out of state my father donated everything to a church. Let’s break those types of generational things now. Less buying less storing and more using of the things we already have.
We also have to point out our generational cycles that we might take with us. I might not save everything for a special occasion, but I had to be reminded that living is a special occasion, because what I was saving for special occasions were my contact lenses. I hate wearing glasses because they are never clean enough. I was thinking of getting Lasik when my ancestors reminded me of the boxes of contacts that are readily available in my linen closet that I never use. Every year I have so many contacts left over that I can no longer wear and don’t want to toss. I hope I can find a place I can donate them to because they are not even expired.
Another thing I can buy but save like it’s going out of stock is skincare. I’ve been holding on to skincare like I wasn’t able to buy it again.
We can block our own blessings just by falling into patterns we saw of poverty growing up. Patterns that our parents might have gotten from their parents and so forth. Recognizing how they show up is key to curbing the behavior. I might not be saving shoes or clothes for Dominican Republic but I’m saving contacts for no actual valid reason. I’ve racked my brain trying to figure it out, because they are comfortable, never dirty and they are the daily type so I don’t have to store them–they literally go right in the trash. The behavior makes no sense. But here I am.
This year I started a project pan, which is something I did a few years back too. It works in two ways for me, helps me to actually use what I have in skincare and beauty, and since I’m intentionally using these items, I’ve saved money this year by not buying any more until I have completed the bottle. Honestly once the bottle is done, I review at that point if I’ve seen a drastic difference in my skin and if I need to purchase again. You can read more about my project pan here. I haven’t been sharing my monthly empties on socials, but I’m definitely using everything more intentionally and am really proud of myself for that!
Of course I also use astrology as a cheat code for my money. What bad habits I might lean into around money, how I could make more money, how I can find success in my career. These are all ways to increase the money coming in and decrease the money coming out with the energy of your birth chart.
So we’ve established that not only is our ancestral altar an altar, but our purses can be money altars, and our home can be an altar as well. Keeping everything nice and clean invites good energy. But also if you treat yourself as an altar, getting rid of old stained clothing, keeping your hair and nails nice (regardless if you’re a DIY girlie or not!) it can keep you in abundance. And once it becomes a habit, it doesn’t take long to keep these rituals going. I may not have my hair done all the time, but the days that it’s not done, it’s definitely in a slick back bun. And when I’m feeling extra, I will add a little bit on the edges. Sometimes swapping a hoodie for a sweater is all I need to upgrade an outfit. Glamour magic and money magic can go hand in hand! Treating yourself as the altar is the simplest way to begin glamour magic.
Similar to wearing your Sunday best to church, when you show the universe that you are treating yourself like a blessing, it will start blessing you too!
My AstroTarot offering is a great way to get a deep dive on your money.
